Socialization Program about AIDS

This year, in April, one senior high school holds a socialization program about AIDS. This is useful for teenagers. The school invites one expert in the field. She is an excellent midwife. Her name is Ms. Laila. Before they start the performance, let me introduce all the characters.

Ms. Vina         : “Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. Good morning students, you are very noisy. We can hear your sound from the teacher’s room. ”

Students          : “Wa’alaikumsalam Wr. Wb. Good Morning mom, we are so sorry mom.”

Ms. Vina         : “Oh it’s Ok dear; I inform you that our school is going to have a socialization program about AIDS today.”

Isna                 : “Wah that sounds great. We will get new experience about it absolutely.”

Ms. Laila         : “Assalamu’alaikum. ”

Ms. Vina         : “Wa’alaikumsalam , Welcome Miss Laila. Please come in.”

Ms. Laila         : “Thank you, nice to meet you Miss Vina. Shall we start the socialization?”

Ms. Vina         : “Oh yeah.

Ok students please meet Ms. Laila. She is a very good a midwife. Who are now giving us some information about AIDS? But, without wasting more time let us hear her speech. Miss Laila the time is yours. ”

Ms. Laila         : “Thanks a lot, Good Morning all.”

Student           : “I’m Miss Laila, I’m a midwife, I work in a public hospital, and today I will talk about AIDS and the impact on teenagers.

Isna                 : “Excuse me mom, what is AIDS?”

Ms. Laila         : “Wow, It is a good Question. AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or in another word AIDS is some illness because of a weakened Immune system, it’s caused by the Human Immunodefiency Virus or (HIV).”

Isna                 : “Is AIDS dangerous for us, mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “Yes of course HIV AIDS is very dangerous because there is no cure for AIDS, but new drugs are available that can prolong  the life spans and improve the quality of life of the people who are infected by the virus. ”

Rosa                : “How can people get infected by HIV mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “Maybe any one can answer the question?”

Hesti               : “ Me, Mom, I think HIV can be transmitted through blood transfusions or by using a contaminated needle or syringe to inject drugs into the blood stream, sexual intercourse with an infected person, and transmission from an infected mother to her child before or during birth or through breast-feeding.”

Ms. Laila         : “Yes that’s right.”

Isna                 : “Does it mean a baby can be infected by the virus from its mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “I’m afraid yes dear. The baby can get the virus while the baby is still in the woman’s uterus or during childbirth. The virus can also be transmitted through the mother’s breast milk during breast-feeding.”

Rosa                : “What about the mosquitoes, mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “What do you mean dear?”

Hesti               : “I think she means like this mom, if mosquitoes suck the blood from infected people then they suck healthy people do the healthy people get the virus from the mosquitoes.”

Ms. Laila         : “No, because AIDS cannot be transmitted a through animals, it’s only transmitted through direct contact.”

Isna                 : “Oh I see”

Hesti                : “How to prevent AIDS mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “They are five ways to Prevent AIDS. We call them ABCDE.

A : Abstinence. Choosing not to have a risky sexual intercourse especially before marriage.

B : be faithful or being faithful with our spouse.

C : Condom. Using condom properly

D : Drugs. Avoiding drugs

E : Equipment. Not using the same needles with other people

Rosa                : “Mom how about kissing? Can we be infected by HIV if we kiss someone with HIV?”

Ms. Laila         : “If it is only a kiss, yes, there is a little chance to get the HIV because HIV can also be transmitted through saliva.”

Hesti                : “How can we know if someone is infected by HIV?”

Student           : “Maybe getting cold, hahaha.”

Rosa                : “Most people experience Flu- like Symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, headache, skin rash, tender lymph nodes.”

Isna                 : “A vague feeling of discomfort, and after several months a years, the symptoms get worse like weight loss and fatigue, periodic fever, recurring diarrhea and thrust a fungal mouth infection.”

Rosa                : “So, this virus is very dangerous, right mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “Yes, that is right, there for you as teenagers have to take a good care of you.”

Isna                 : “How mom?”

Ms. Laila         : “Make friend with good people, religious and do not forget to always pray to God.”

Student           : “Ok Mom.”
